Director Charles Correll Jr. died June 4 in L.A. of pancreatic cancer. He was 60.
At the time of his death, he was in the midst of shooting several episodes of “CSI” and “CSI: Miami.”
Correll began his career as a camera assistant working for Jack Webb on “Dragnet” and worked his way up to camera operator on shows such as “Columbo” and “Kojak.” He earned an Emmy nomination for “Wallenberg: A Hero’s Story” and won an Emmy for “The Winds of War.”
He moved into directing, helming episodes of “Without a Trace,” “Law & Order,” “The Street,” “Seven Days,” “Titans,” “Beverly Hills, 90210,” “Melrose Place” and more.
Correll directed TV films including “Hijacked: Flight 285,” “MacGyver: Trail to Doomsday,” “Dead Before Dawn,” “Mother of the Bride” and many more.
He was cinematographer on features including “Animal House,” “Revenge of the Nerds II” and “In God We Trust.”

Correll was son of Charles J. Correll, Andy of the “Amos & Andy” radio show. He is survived by his wife Robin; two daughters; a son; and two brothers including thesp Richard Correll.
