James Cameron dives into the Mariana Trench – in pictures Film-maker James Cameron completes a record dive to the bottom of the Mariana Trench, which is located in the western Pacific Ocean, to the east of the Mariana Islands.The dive was part of Deepsea Challenge, a scientific expedition by Cameron, the National Geographic Society and Rolex to conduct deep-ocean research.
